10 Spiritual Ways to Approach Money

Money and fear tend to be intertwined--especially right now, as the stock market flips and flops, and the word "subprime" gets tossed around. What is your money history? Take time to write about this in your journal. Write whatever comes to mind, no censoring. Make time to reflect on your past actions with money and make peace with it. No matter what it is. Where you see flaws, forgive yourself. It is only when you accept where you're starting from that you can begin to go forward.
Ask God for Help
One of divinity's traditional names is Providence, the all-provider. God/Goddess/Spirit is intimately involved in all aspects of our lives, and finances are no exception. If human economics hasn't worked for you in the past, what do you have to lose? Try spiritual economics: where there is demand, supply will appear. Address your request to God, let go, and joyfully expect an answer. Give thanks every day and listen within: You'll be guided if there are actions to take.
Remember That Debt Is Trust
First, think about what debt means: Someone (or some company) trusted you would be good for the money. Now turn within and from the place inside you that knows what's so, look to Providence and give your trust over to all provision, a.k.a. Spirit, God/dess, Nature, Wonder. Clearing up debt is about learning to trust yourself and Providence.
Visualize the Flow
There are two major modes for dealing with money in life: circulation and congestion. Circulation is paying bills, tithing, giving to charity. Congestion is hoarding, saving for a rainy day, being stingy. It's no coincidence that one word for money is currency; it comes from the word current, which means flow. When you congest around money, the flow stops. Money, by its nature, flows. Picture yourself and your money in the flow. Set Your Intention
Intention is everything when it comes to manifestation. What do you want money for? Do you want a new pair of shoes to match your new suit? Great. Do you want to start a foundation for homeless children? Great. The wild thing is, it doesn't matter to God as long as you intend the highest good for all. Tell yourself your intention, share it with God through prayer, and listen for guidance. Pray Your Bills
Yes, of course, pay your bills, but first, PRAY your bills. Put them all in your lap, sit quietly, and pray for each bill. Give thanks for the service you received, and pray that you and your loved ones may continue to enjoy what each bill represents. For example, your utility bill can bring to mind a warm home in winter, hot meals, and clean water to drink. While you're at it, send the same blessing to those who helped provide for you.
Be Conscious of Your Judgments
Okay, let's really get into it now: resentment, envy, finger-pointing. Where you have judgments, you only hurt yourself! Try these on: Rich people are miserly; the IRS is a dirty, rotten scoundrel, the oil companies are greedy, money is the root of all evil (the misquote most often used about money). It's really very simple to get clear around money: Just wish for others what you would wish for yourself!
Bless Your Money
Whatever you praise increases. Praise works to increase anything, both the positive and the negative. Why? Because you are showing interest in it. The activity of praising is blessing. Bless your money! Every penny of it. Blessing is also a form of gratitude. You are thanking God for the money you have in order to create more money. Receive Graciously
There is a cost to giving, dear one. The cost of giving is receiving. Conversely, the cost of receiving is giving. It's a wondrous cycle of circles where we all participate in all of its phases at all times. Learn to receive graciously! You go to lunch with a friend who has just gotten a raise. She offers to buy you lunch to celebrate. Do you let her? You let money out, don't you? Now, let money in.
Share the Wealth
You do not need to have a lot of money in order to give to others. Ask yourself, Where am I wealthy? Start your giving there. Do you have extra time? Give time. Extra money? Give money. Extra talent? Give talent. The feelings associated with genuine joyous giving are to be cultivated.
Secret: Wealth attracts wealth!

What you resist persists. If you fight something then you are feeding it your energy. It is unwise to enter such a struggle. The truly wise person seeks joyful growth not conflict. If you are fighting with reality then simply stop and withdraw your focus and find something more worthwhile to contend with. Of course your negative thinking will simply wither if you stop feeding it. And your negative opponent will not like the fact that you stop showing up. They will no doubt conclude that you are no fun at all and are no longer worth playing with.

So why are we so hung up on the issue? Why, for so many, is it so associated with pain and negativity, surrounded by silence and secrecy? Tampons are made from either cotton, or a mixture of cotton and rayon. Use of cotton of course raises issues of fair trade, pesticide use and genetic modification. Rayon is chemically processed from wood pulp. Disposable sanitary towels and panty liners are also made mostly from wood pulp, bleached from its natural brown colour. Chlorine gas was originally the bleaching agent used, and was a source of dioxin, which is a known carcinogen-due to lots of campaigning from The Women’s Environmental Network they now use either chlorine dioxide or hydrogen peroxide. As a result of this and reduced use of chlorine in other processes, dioxin levels in the environment are tending to fall. Dioxins released during chlorine bleaching and plastics manufacture have been shown to cause cancer, miscarriages and damage to the immune system and toxic shock syndrome.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just some of us; it's everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. |

everything to do with intentionsNeale Donald Walsch 1998 When I was a child, I was told that love means thinking of others first. Then Conversations with God said I should always put myself first. Could this be right? How could I reconcile this with my earlier life teachings? The answer is that everything has to do with intentions. If it is your intention in life to live the grandest version of the greatest vision you ever held about who you are, and if that vision of yourself is that you are loving, caring, generous, kind, compassionate, and truthful, then you will behave towards others in a way which could look like you are putting them first. The difference is that you will be doing this not for others, but for yourself...because this is simply who you are. When we do things for others (or imagine that this is what we are doing), two insidious attitudes can appear: Expectation and Resentment. We may begin to expect that those for whom we are doing things now "owe" us, and we may experience growing resentment if they don't "pay up." On the other hand, when we do things for ourselves (even if that results in nice things happening for others), it will be difficult to move into Expectation, and virtually impossible to build up Resentment...unless we clearly do not understand the nature of what is occurring. That is, unless we ignore or deny that we are doing something for ourselves, and actually convince ourselves that we are doing it for another. In truth, everything you do, you do for yourself, because every act is an act of self-definition. All of life is a process of deciding Who You Are. Your purpose is to experience that, and to recreate yourself anew in the next grandest version of it. This is called Evolution. So think of yourself first at every moment of decision. Think of Who You Are, and of what you are trying to become. Make the highest choice about that - paint the greatest picture you could ever imagine of Who You Are in every place ad circumstance - and all the rest will take care of itself.

And you believe that this wall stands between you and all that you desire. You think that this is the wall of your failings and shortcomings and that if you could somehow cut it down to size you would be able to reach your dreams. You think that you must become other than what you are, must improve, in order to deserve what is on the other side, in order to earn it. But you misunderstand, for this is the wall of I Am. This is the wall of your greatness, just as you are, just as all is. You do not need to climb it and you certainly do not need to make it smaller, for your greatness cannot be made smaller. You need only to recognize your greatness, recognize that your power is fully expressed within you just as you are. You need only see that this wall is permeable, that you can simply step into it. And what happens when you do this, when you step into your own greatness? You expand. You expand up into the limitless heights of being, while still being you, just as you are. You simply step into what you have seen as a barrier and recognize it instead as yourself, right now. In this moment, with everything exactly as it is, you are fully capable of stepping into your greatness. It requires only that you see that this great barrier is no barrier at all. It requires only that you accept that this was an illusion and that there was only your illusion separating you from all that you wished to accomplish. Reach in your hand. See how it is not solid at all. Now step in. Feel the wall. Become one with it. Feel its power, surging through you. Feel how, here in this wall of greatness, the wall of I Am, that you are fully expanded and expressed, unlimited. Feel here that you are the beauty of the angels’ song, the sparkling wonder of the brightest star, the kiss of the gentle breeze and the roaring power of the ocean waves. You are all of this, because you are all that is, expressed as you, just as you are, exactly now. Now, step all the way through the wall. Step into the garden of life and see that you can live here as an expanded being, fully empowered. And if you begin to feel any doubt or fear, you can simply step back into the wall of greatness and empower yourself again. You are this. You are power. You are life unending. You are love and beauty fully expressed. You are, in fact, God made flesh. This is who you are. 2008 is the year of power, personal power, the power to create your life unhindered by fear and doubt, the power to come fully into yourself, reach your deepest core and shine out with all you are. As the last year was a year of transition and often confusion, so the coming year is one of clarity and an explosion of power into your life. As prior years have been years of growth and learning, discovery and exploration, so this coming year is one of expression of all you have learned, full self-expression using the talents that have been created through your learning as well as those that have long lain dormant. This is the year of power. This is the year of expression. This is the year of freedom. And all of this is yours through the connection you have with the great all, with your own godliness, with the energy within you that ties to the great source of all energy. You do not need to earn this; it is yours. You do not even need to learn this; it is yours as a natural part of your being. You cannot help but be one with the power. It is simply so. All you need to do, right now, is acknowledge it, feel it, own it. You do, in fact, know what you want out of life. You do, in fact, know your deepest dreams. And these dreams are to use the talents and characteristics that are within you. They are there for that reason. They are there finally to be acknowledged and utilized as a part of your full self-expression. And so, claim this power. Claim your life. Claim your inheritance, your birthright, to be a fully-expressed and powerful human being, walking this earth with purpose, each step guided by the light of love, the pathway ahead sparkling with infinite possibility and the great and unending grace of God flooding down upon you as you walk. See the glow within you, the spark of divine presence that is you. See yourself glowing brighter and brighter, glowing with the goodness and godliness that you are. See how that glow extends out and out, further and further, until it light up the world. And from this space and this place, create your life. Pull out that dusty old dream, the one that seems too big, the one that everyone says is impossible, yet still the one that makes your heart beat faster. Take it out and give it power; give it light and energy. Now let it go, fully charged and burning bright, and watch it ascend into the sky, up and up, until it is a star to light your life, hanging up in the firmament, ready to guide you each step of the way. Connect with that star. Feel and see the bond that reaches from that star down to you. Feel that you and your star are one and the same. Feel that you have within you all the power of the brightest star in the sky, all the power of all that is, the true godliness of creation, all within you. And now, stand tall and reach your hand up to the night sky. Point your finger at your star and see the lightning flash out. Hear the thunder answer. Let your power flash out in wonder and glory as you declare yourself clearly and fully: I am! I am! This is your year to be guided by this star, letting each step expand your light and lift you higher. This is the year to shine out in freedom and godliness, shining as brightly as your star shines in the sky. The time is here. Say it aloud, say it with power, say it because it is true: I am!
